Dad and Mom took off last night. Of course Elijah stayed to play with Ms. Christy. He had a great time and she put him to sleep like a pro! We enjoyed out time out with dinner and a trip to look at gardening stuff.
He slept through the night again. I think it was all the fun he had with Ms. Christy! Mom and Dad are starting to feel like real people again!
I do think Elijah is learning to sleep through the night now. Thanks to some great advice we decided to try crying it out. It doesn't seem natural to not go to your baby when he cries. But I know he is just crying b/c he needs sleep. So we tried it out and it seems to be working. It is hard to argue with results. He didn't even cry last night. I pray it lasts!
As of March 21st (1st day of Spring), Elijah has his first tooth. How did we figure it out... he bit Mommy. I wish I could show a picture but he won't even let me look let alone take a picture. I guess this means the first step out of baby world and into toddlerhood. :)
We bought bunny ears for Elijah. I know, I know, it is just wrong. But he is so cute we couldn't resist. This is bribery when he brings his first date home. "You better be home on time or I bring out the bunny pictures..."
We took some good picture of Oma and Elijah this weekend. Ome brought out her disco ball for Elijah and he thought it was the coolest thing! Then we turned off the lights and he didn't know what to make of the lights all around the room.
Elijah finally 'gets' his Discovery Dome Nana and Pops bought him for Christmas. It is his favorite thing to play in right now and we have pictures to prove it. The only problem... the cats love it as much as he does. They think we have made a cat tent. Every night one of them is sitting in the dome after Eli goes to bed. Silly Cats!
A couple of weeks ago, my friend Anna came over to spend the day with us. Anna was in Mom and Dad's wedding as the flower girl when she was only 5 years old. Anna has blossomed in to a beautiful 12 year old and now is holding our son. She was a big help and Elijah enjoyed playing her with all day. :)
Elijah is crawling! Well, sort of. He gets on all 4s and rocks and then takes a few steps back. He can also climb Dad and Mom like a jungle gym and shows no fear when being held. He is all boy and the baby is slowing disapearing...
Elijah has tried some exciting things the last few days. He tried cantalope in his mesh feeder. He enjoyed feeding himself. Mom and Dad wish we would have videoed when Elijah tasted his first biter bisquit. At first we gave him a taste and he smiled. Then we put it in him hand. He looked at the bisquit with a puzzeled looked then giggled. Then he figured out he could taste it himself while he is holding it. He would take a taste then giggle. We were super parents for giving him this new taste. Enjoy the pictures!
Elijah took his last bath in the kitchen sink. Elijah discovered that water is fun to splash and make a HUGE mess! So from now on Elijah will take a bath in the big boy tub. I had to share these pictures. Our handsome boy!!!!
