Planetarium Trip

Elijah took his first trip to the planetarium this weekend. Our friend Powell's 5th birthday was a space party at the planetarium and the whole family had a great time. Elijah was so excited by the lights above that he couldn't sit still and tried to jump out of Mommy and Daddy's laps. But by the end of the party, Elijah didn't make it. Elijah fell asleep in Mommy's arms. There was just too much excitement.

5 months old

Things are moving so fast! Elijah is 5 months old tomorrow. The Ferguson's are having a blast, whoever knew a little boy could be so much fun. Elijah's favorite activities is the jumper from Oma and his floor gym. Elijah is now rolling from front to back and back to front, he is a pro! His favorite toys is the monkey from Tina and the dragonfly from Daphne! Elijah is trying to master putting his own paci in. He can get the paci in but he hasn't figured out how to let it go. :) He is also working on six pack abs. He will lay on the floor and do "crunches" trying to sit himself up. He is going to be in better shape than Mom and Dad.

We are taking about a million pictures a day and so we thought we would share a few. I hope you enjoy and thanks for letting us brag. Elijah lights up our world!

Check out my hair!

Yep, Mommy brushed it and this is where it stayed!

Baby Blue Eyes

Mom wanted to focus on Elijah beautiful blue eyes so she took the color out the the picture except for eyes and his hat. He is so handsome!

Elijah and Daddy

Elijah loves his daddy. Everytime Daddy comes home Elijah lights up with the biggest smile. Dad and Elijah like to just hang out. Somehow Daddy made an agreement with Elijah: Eli likes to sleep through the night when it is Daddy's night to get up. Mommy is not happy about this but it makes her so happy to see Elijah and Daddy together.

Elijah's Dedication

Elijah was dedicated to the church yesterday. He was cute as ever. Dad picked out his outfit and everyone agreed Eli was quite the dapper young lad. We were so thankful to give our child back to the Lord for whatever He has planned for him. We didn't know it but the sermon was on Proverbs, raising children. What incredible timing!

Mom can remember so many dedications she sat through on the verge of tears wanting a baby to do the same with. Yesterday, God answered those tears. We are so proud of Elijah. He is the light of our life and every day is amazing with him here. God has taught us so many things through Elijah and we promise to always listen to Him for direction on how to raise this precious gift.

Sleeping in a new way...

Well, Elijah has decided to start rolling over in his sleep so no more swaddling for Eli! It has been a rough few nights trying to sleep with his arms out. Elijah likes to knock himself in the head. Mom and Dad broke down and bought a video monitor. We couldn't trust the sound monitor with Elijah rolling over and not being able to breath. Mom and Dad just love to watch him sleep. It turns out that Elijah likes to 'walk the crib'. He sticks his feet in the rings on the crib and walks up and down the crib, this is also how he is rolling over. Our little acrobat.

Funny story... our neighbor calls Mom this morning to tell me she saw Elijah in HER video monitor last night. HA HA HA! It made Mom and Shelly both wonder what we could see of each others babies. Mom is glad it was Shelly that saw Elijah and not the other way around. It would have scared mom to death. These new fangled technologies...

4 months old...can you beleive it???

Our little prince is 4 months old. Wow how time flies! We fall in love with him more every day. His favorite toys are his monkey, his bow bow dog, and his jumper. He is atempting to sit up everyday and does what we call baby sit ups. He lays on his back and does crunches. He has been known to do this for 10 minutes at a time. He will have a baby six pack anyday now. Only if mom and dad would do the same.

Food...real food!

Elijah has been tasting real foods for a few weeks now. After a month of Elijah staring at Mom and Dad as we ate, we decided to give him a few tastes. He doesn't eat much just a few bites of each at one feeding a day. Elijah has tried bananas, applesauce, sweet potatoes, prunes, string beans, and squash. His favorite is bananas! He doesn't care for stringbeans. He will usually eat a bite then by the second bite he is looking at you like you are crazy for putting something like that in his mouth.

Dad and Mom have the feeding technique down pat...feed and scoop...feed and scoop. We are all having a blast trying new things!

rolling over and these things are feet

What an exciting new year we have had today! Elijah rolled over for the first time from tummy to back and has repeated this feat numerous times! Also, Elijah discovered his feet. Check out the picture! He is such a big boy!
